One day a year on January 1st, Bobby Flay's Gato opens up a few hours earlier than usual, so I figured it was the perfect day to pop in and see whats new on the menu, as well as have some of my usual favorites.
New on the menu was the
-Pizza with Littleneck Clams, cauliflower, garlic, and mustard greens
-Scallop Crudo with blood orange, green onion, and fresno chiles
-Cannelloni with butternut squash, swiss chard, ricotta, and bacon
-Handcut Pappardelle with cremini mushrooms, rioja, black garlic, parmigiano, and creme fraiche
-Brussels Sprouts with pomegranates and pistachios
-Black Rice with squid, shrimp, fra diavolo
How could we leave without getting a bite out of all the desserts as well
The desserts we had were the
-Chocolate Almond Crema Catalana
-Apple Crostata with calvados crunch gelato
-Pistachio Brown Butter Cake with Port-Honey Gelato
-Fromage Blanc Pumpkin Cheesecake with an Allspice caramel and pecan crust
-Espresso Soaked Bread Pudding with a Mascarpone Crema, and Bittersweet cocoa
