Step into 12 Chairs and you are immediately transported to Israel; from the decor, the amazing smells coming out of the kitchen, and the smiling faces of the staff.  You almost think that you will need your passport to go any further! There are a quite a few different Israeli cuisine restaurants in NYC, but 12 Chairs stands out with its flavors and dishes I haven't seen at other ones.  Like their Jachnun.  What is it?  Its what heaven would taste like (if Jews believed in heaven) more specifically its a thin pastry thats cooked overnight and layered with margarine and date honey!
